Saying goodbye

Well, for those of you that read the comments on the previous post... this may not come as a surprise. We have decided to let Koyuk go; we've found a good home for him north of Aberdeen. The people who are taking him have had huskies in the past, have 5 acres of space, and have kennels ready to go. He was a blessing in his short time with us, but in reality, it ended up being too much of a committment on our part to keep him. Don't ask us why we didn't realize this before. We're just thankful we found a home for him.

Introducting Koyuk

Well... here he is. My wife was kind enought to pose with him. He's been a good puppy overall so far. He's getting quieter at night (he gets bathroom breaks at 12:30 and 3:15. We look forward to weaning him down to once a night, then we can worry about the whole night.

Currently, his issue is staying at home alone. Let's just say that his white face and legs have a brown hue after a while. Poor guy is still learning to cop with anxiety. It'll get better though. More action shots to follow.

New Addition

Hello everyone, as some of you already may know. We purchased a Siberian Husky pup over the weekend. He's great! Although a lot of work right now. I mean a lot, it's like a new child. We can't wait until his bladder grows larger, hasn't had any accidents on the carpet yet, but that's only because we've let him out during the night every 3 hours or so.

His name is Koyuk, not sure what it means, but it's a town in Alaska, near Nome. He's a male, 9.5 weeks old, white undersides, gray/black body, with a black head and white face. He is already learned how to sit on command (most of the time if he isn't too distracted) and loves to slide his nose around in the snow. His worst part is that he gets lonely if left alone in the outdoor kennel. Hopefully the neighbors don't mind until he realizes that being in the kennel isn't all bad and that it might be fun. We have a couple pictures to post, but none with me now.

Next post will have pictures, I promise!

Study break

I'm currently at the library at NDSU taking a quick study break. Actually, it's a writing break. Not much of a break because I'm writing this, oh well. It's at least easier on my mind. Mostly done with a report on Activity Based Costing. Sounds exciting doesn't it, it's actually not too bad.

For those of you familiar with the library at NDSU... I am currently sitting to the left of the front doors in a newly constructed nook. The entire library now is wireless, as is most of campus, so that's a big change.

Back to the paper, exciting stuff for a Friday after work!
