Kitchen Paint

Nicole surprised me one evening when I came home after school. We had talked about paint color for the kitchen and had tentatively decided on our choice. This is what I found. We are happy with how it turned out.

Pheasant Hunting

The gang was able to make the trip out to Mott again for our annual hunting weekend. Doug B. and I drove to Jamestown where we met up with Preston M. We jumped in with him and away we went. The Johnson's (who we stay with) are doing well and haven't changed at all. Their son is now 6 years old. The picture below is a fairly typical setting we experienced all weekend... the Bison won, birds were plenty, and the food was terrific. We look forward to next year.

All over

Finally finished off the ash tree a few weeks ago. The backyard is so much more exposted now, oh well. However, the bright spot is that we immediately planted 3 quaking aspen in it's place.

Kestrel

Thought we'd finally post a picture from the zoo portion of our blog. The bird shown is an American Kestrel. It is one of the smaller birds of prey. This bird is currently used for outreach programs at the zoo and in the community.

Slowly, but surely

Removal of the ash is moving along. The remaining portions were either hanging over my house or the neighbors. Last Saturday we (my boss and I) were able to remove the portion over our house. Another 2-3 hours and we should have the neighbors side complete. It has been a fun project, a lot of work, but nonethless rewarding. In the bottom picture I am setting up a rigging line to catch the branch after a cut is made. Much easier of the roof that way.

5th Anniversary

Thought we'd mention that this past Friday was our anniversary. Can't believe it's been 5 years, it has went so fast.
