Finally... progress

After much discussion and debate, work is progressing in the basement. We've opted to keep things fairly simple although I'm sure there will be a few challenges to overcome. Below you'll find some newly hung 6-panel doors, audio/video tower (cords can be manipulated in the storage room, no more digging blindly), kitty door - rough opening, and the gutted area beneath the stairs (formerly housed a 1/4 full oil tank for the old furnace, thanks to my brother and dad for helping remove that).

We went to Barnes and Noble today to find some pictures and find more ideas, didn't have much luck, but was fun. We're thinking of incorporating a decent sized table in the fridge area to play games and reworking the "bar". We'll see how it takes shape.

Nice work so far. It is kinda fun to have a blank slate for remodeling, other than a budget. Where did the pool table end up?

Wow, good question... as I thought it was visible in a pic. It is still in place, basically behind me or beside me in every photo. It is currently holding our couch, so we're putting it to good use.

That was part of our dilema, remove the pool table, keep it. We like having it, but only use it 6 or so times a year.

The love-hate relationship with the pool table, eh? Well, you could make it convert into a super secret planning station, you know, like with a super hero league or evil league (which ever you prefer). You could put in a special button so that the pool table converts right before your eyes.

That would be cool.
